Info from Arbor Creek HERE for District Auditions Audition Expectations All top bands in the district are expected to send students to the All-District auditions. Through this process students learn more advanced rhythms, ranges of notes and musical expression. The audition itself is made to be as easy as possible. Students are given a letter, like AG, to remain anonymous, judges are out of sight behind a screen, and music and cuts are posted outside the room so students can mark them and then practice them in their warm up. Auditions are also designed to take less time that other district's auditions. All-District auditions are Saturday, October 21 at Arbor Creek Middle School. MAP Students that make the band get out of school on January 26 to rehearse with the All-District band and have a concert that night. (Audition Procedures at the bottom) All-Region audition dates are split by instrument. Bari Sax, Tenor Sax, Euphonium and Tuba are after school on Wednesday, October 25, at Briarhill MS. Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone and Percussion are Saturday, October 28, at McKamy MS. (Audition Procedures at the bottom) 2017 All District Band Audition Times
• If there is a time conflict that has suddenly arisen please try to switch your student on your own campus (same instrument obviously). We will fit all the kids in to audition even if they come at the wrong time, but they must audition in the time window for that instrument. We will not hold a room open late or let a kid audition before that instrument’s window actually opens. • Audition Instrument Windows are as follows Flute: 8:30 – 4:00 2017 All District Band Audition Procedures (Percussion at the bottom of this page)
