Hello Parents and Students,
You just received an email from 99 Pledges. In order to pay for upcoming events, another Epic Waters field trip, and supplies to finish this year and help prepare for next year, we ask that all students participate. If we make our program goal we’ll be able to go to Epic Waters for free. If we don’t make our goal, the boosters will determine how much of the fundraiser money to put toward the trip and I will let everyone know how much the trip will cost. You may decide to donate the goal amount or more and that will count as participation. Our boosters are also a non-profit, so donations are tax deductible. If you have a business or know those that do, they might be in a position to donate to your student.
This company only wants 2.9% for the credit card fee and 30 cents for their system per transaction. $5 gives us about $4.55. Most companies like this want to keep 40%. Because the cost is low, any amount will be helpful, and small donations are amazing if they are from multiple people. 12 people making a $5 donation to your student will meet our goal.
We will have prizes for the students that get the most donations and the class period that fundraises the most will have a party.
The fundraiser ends on Monday, April 25, with a Band Olympics pass-off event from 4:30-8:00pm. There is an option to donate by pledging an amount per hour students practice instead of a flat donation. Hours from this week through Monday March 25 will be recorded and then entered into the system, up to 10 hours. If someone donates $1 per hour, their donation will be capped at $10. I think most people will make a one-time donation instead. I’ll send more information about the Band Olympics separately.
Thank you for supporting our UIL Sweepstakes band program!
Sincerely,
David DeSoto
