The All-District auditions will take place Saturday, October 19 at Arbor Creek Middle School. Students will play scales, selected parts of their Region Etudes, and do sight-reading for a panel of judges. All students have a chance to be selected to be a part of the All-District Band!
There is no required dress code. The judges will not be able to see you. Wear comfortable clothes!
Before you leave your house, be sure you have all your music, pencil, extra reeds, valve oil, etc.!
Arrive approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled performance time.
When you arrive, check-in with the monitor at your performance room.
Find the etude “excerpts” and mark them in your music. Find out what 2 scales you will need to play.
Warm-up in the designated area and go to your performance room about 10 minutes before your scheduled performance time.
The room monitor will assign you a letter. When you enter the room, the monitor will announce you to the judges. They will say something like, “Judges, this is letter J.”
At that point, you may start your audition. Remember, you are not allowed to speak to the judges! The judges will not tell you what to play; you need to play your music in the order listed in the processes below.
